Sometimes, I get flashes of understanding, as do we all, I suppose.
As I was mulling over “consciousness”, I suddenly got an image of an empty space, not just empty but like before the big bang, nothing. And all I have is this sense of being alive. No physical body, no actual life force, whatever that is, but just this sense of being alive.
So, there I am, the only ‘one’ in this place where there is nothing and where nothing exists but I have this sense of life – that is my only sense. I realise that no one else exists because they can’t. There is nowhere for them to exist in. The concept of “others” doesn’t even exist.
Suddenly I am aware that if I have life, I must be someone and then, again suddenly, that to be someone, I must have consciousness and then, like magic, everything that is me appears.
My body and all my senses, my more than five senses, my ability to think and so on.
Then I realise that I am not alone because I have created others with my desire not to be alone.
And then my whole universe appears.
Whether that is how we create our universe, I don’t know but it was rather a strange and forceful impression.
