I would like to tell you a quick story.
My wife and I trained as mediums.
We were living in rented accommodations, with three kids, and were very poor. We worked hard just to survive.
Our guides told us to buy a large and beautiful house that was for sale. We had absolutely no money saved. However, we applied to buy the house and, a few weeks later, there we were, installed in this house, welcoming sick people and giving spiritual lessons; all for free.
If someone insisted on leaving a “freewill offering”, we gave that money to someone who needed it more than us. Each time that we received a bill that we could not pay, the money appeared in some form – not from sick people – but from outside help.
However, we kept our daytime jobs and activities and welcomed people in the evenings and at weekends.
So, we were not relying on God to feed us.
As people learned about us, so we needed to travel. The money to buy a car appeared. And so, it went on and still does.
Once we had an open day and a lot more people turned up than we had food for. As we served the food, it just went on and on until everybody had eaten their fill.
All that I have mentioned above is true.
The point is, that we were not “professional” mediums.
We worked to maintain our family. The spiritual work was on top and given for free.
I don’t know if you can see the difference.
No doubt, if God had wanted us to become full time mediums, He would have looked after us financially, but it was not the case.
